Tharparkar District (Urdu: تھرپارکر ) is one of twenty three districts of Sindh province in Pakistan. It is headquarters is at Mithi. It has the lowest Human Development Index of all districts in Sindh.

The population can be divided into three main classes, Rajputs, which include Muslim and Hindu tribes and aboriginal tribes. The large number of aboriginal Bhils are also settled in Tharparkar district. Many nomadic Sindhi tribe inhabit the region.
Muslims constitute over 70% of the population while the Hindus are 30%. At the time of independence of Pakistan in 1947, the Hindus were 80% while the Muslims were 20% of the population. The significant number of Hindus migrated to India during the 1965 and 1971 wars between Pakistan and India.
It is dividided into 4 Talukas[1] (tehsils):
Nagarparkar is a tehsil of district Tharparkar that borders Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat from three sides. The area was part of historical Jain and Hindu mythologies and have beyond twenty archeological sites.
The beauty of Nangarparkar is due to its pink granite Karronjhar hills and rich flora and fauna. Various environmentalists have been demanding the national park status for the Nagarparkar.[2]
